Developer tools

The dev category holds seven tools. All run in the browser; tool pages live under /tools/dev/.

Path: /tools/dev/editor

A JavaScript editor with a console. Code runs in a sandbox.

  • Run with Ctrl+Enter; Stop ends the running code and throws its sandbox away.
  • Format lays the code out: indentation and line breaks only, nothing rewritten.
  • Copy the code, or empty the editor (Ctrl+Z brings it back).
  • A console panel shows output, which you can copy or clear.

Path: /tools/dev/html-viewer

Edit an HTML document and see a live preview. Scripts run in a sandboxed preview.

  • Run (Ctrl+Enter) shows the page with its scripts running.
  • Choose when the preview updates: markup live with scripts on Run, everything live, or only when you press Run.
  • Format the document with Prettier; Check reviews the structure and accessibility of the document.
  • Preview as a visitor whose browser is set to dark, widen the preview over the editor, and show the preview console.
  • Copy the editor contents, download the document as page.html, or reset to the starting example.

Path: /tools/dev/crontab

Edits a cron expression and explains it.

  • Shows what the expression means and its next ten run times, with presets.
  • Copy the expression or the next runs; paste an expression from the clipboard; reset to the example.
  • A syntax table covers *, single values, lists, ranges, steps (*/15, 5/15), month and weekday names, 0 and 7 for Sunday, and shorthands such as @daily and @reboot.
  • Quartz extensions (L, W, #) are rejected, because crontab(5) rejects them too. Ranges do not wrap (22-4 is an error).
  • The page notes that cron runs in the server’s timezone, not yours.

Path: /tools/dev/deploy-manifest

A form for building a deployment manifest, with a Markdown view for review.

  • Choose an environment, start from a template, save the current manifest as a template, or empty the form.
  • Import and export the manifest as JSON.
  • Copy the manifest as Markdown, download it in a chosen format, or print it.
  • A review panel shows a count of items for attention.
  • The manifest is autosaved in the browser; export the JSON to move it between machines.

Path: /tools/dev/date-tools

Date converter for Gregorian and Hijri dates and for Unix timestamps.

  • Gregorian to Hijri, comparing the arithmetic Hijri Civil calendar with the Umm al-Qura calendar.
  • Hijri to Gregorian, with a choice of Hijri calendar. The same Hijri numbers can map to different Gregorian dates.
  • Date to timestamp and timestamp to date, interpreting the input as local time, UTC or Riyadh (UTC+3). Timestamps can be in seconds or milliseconds.
  • Output includes ISO 8601, Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds, UTC, local and Riyadh time. A Use now button fills every converter with the current moment.
  • Calendar calculations use the browser’s internationalisation data; the page notes that observational dates can differ by authority.

Path: /tools/dev/ai-tools

A prompt library and composer for preparing prompts you copy elsewhere.

  • Search and filter a library of templates by category.
  • A composer with two parts: how the AI should behave (the system prompt) and what you want done. Replace each {{placeholder}} using the template variables.
  • Copy both parts, or either part alone; clear to start a blank prompt.
  • The draft saves automatically in the browser.

This tool belongs to the ai feature module and can be left out of a build.

Path: /tools/dev/jar-decompiler

Opens a .jar, .war or .zip and shows its classes as Java source, decompiled with CFR. Dropping a file anywhere on the page also opens it. The page reminds you to decompile only code you have the right to inspect.

  • Browse the archive contents, with filters for entries and classes, and options to show or hide inner and anonymous classes and other files.
  • Copy or save the source on screen.
  • Save all decompiled sources as a zip.
